Source to Mouth
Below is the map of river Thames from the source to the mouth.
The source of the Thames is Thames head in the mountainous regions whereas the mouth is near Thames estuary.
The length of the river is 346km. It is in the country of the United Kingdom.
The
river goes through famous counties such as Oxford, Windsor, Reading and
London. London bridge, Tower bridge and millennium bridge are built
across the river.
Landforms created
•River Thames create different landforms like water-
•The River Thames created some waterfalls
and hills like Yorkshire Dales
•Through the Teesdale Way and the Pennine
Way the river flows creating mini waterfalls
and little gorges
•The river also made some valleys in
Walk.
Occupations and uses
Rivers for power station ,
Used for transportation ,
Ports ,
Food ,
Water for industries ,
Rivers for tourism ,
Rivers for leisure ,
Alluvium for farming .
Environmental concerns
}Heavy
rain or snowfall can cause violent storms and floods in the river
Thames. To prevent the floods the Thames Barrier was built.
}Nowadays it is on the cleanest rivers but in the mid 19th century pollution was a common factor disturbing the wildlife.}There
is a wide range of bio-diversity on the river Thames. For example
Sturgeons, Salmon and Zander are found occasionally of the coast. Chub
perch pike and bream.
Biodiversity
• Animals and fish thrive on the River Thames such as Chub Sturgeon and Bream and Chinese Mitten Crab .
• Plantae also live on the river Thames.

• However due to the fishing occupations many of the fish are vulnerable to extinction.
